Job Description:
My client, an International Oil & Gas Contractor, is currently seeking a Risk & Safety Advisor to join their team based in Aberdeen.


Description and Main Purpose of Job:

To provide support, assistance and advise to subsea projects and associated activities on risk management, safety, health and environmental matters.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Carry out duties in accordance with Business Management System process requirements
2. Compile and facilitate / chair project Risk Assessment activities
3. Monitor and review project risks throughout the life of project
4. Monthly Health, Safety and Environmental performance analysis and reporting in line with project, department, company and Client requirements
5. Development and implementation of Project Audit Plan
6. Develop, implement (as necessary) and verify completion of SHEQ plan activities
7. Timely preparation of project SHEQ documentation
8. Liaise with project subcontractors / suppliers
9. Liaise with Assurance Team and provide support, as assistance, as necessary, on project QA and QC matters
10. Ensure / monitor project documentation correctly filed
11. Liaise with Safety Coach to develop and implement improvement plans in line with project and departmental objectives
12. Daily communications with Safety Coach throughout project planning and execution
13. In liaison with Safety Coach, attend all project vessel mobilisation / demobilisations to monitor and observe project activities, provide SHEQ feedback to project and marine teams, implement audit and improvement plans
14. Delivery of statutory Health & Safety training to project teams
15. Liaise with Safety Coach to investigate all undesired events and monitor corrective and / or preventative actions are appropriately addressed and closed out
16. Ensure Lessons Learned from Undesired Events are captured and suitably communicated internally and, if appropriate, to industry
17. Champion for and where necessary provide instruction and information on SYNERGI, R2S, SYPOL and the BMS
18. Champion for and continuous promotion of B2B initiative
19. Member of the Emergency Response Team and where necessary prepare and conduct emergency response exercises
20. Ensure an up to date knowledge and understanding of the requirements of IMCA standards and requirements
21. Apply and promote Bibby Offshore Core Values
22. Assist in tender submission documentation
23. When necessary, provide offshore cover for Safety Coach

Experience and Skill Level Requirement:

• A relevant HSE qualification to NEBOSH certificate level and be working towards diploma level or equivalent.
• Internal Auditor Training
• At least two years experience of providing SHEQ advice in a dynamic project / company environment.
• Knowledge of Quality Management systems i.e. ISO 9001
• Knowledge of offshore and / or marine operations
• Knowledge of offshore diving operations
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work using own initiative or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to effectively manage own workload, and work within given timescales (both internal and external), ensuring project requirements are met.
• Adaptability and problem solving capability

Job Description:
Our client, a Global Oil & Gas Service provider has an immediate requirement for a Senior Structural Specialist - Floating Offshore Installations (FOI). The role includes technology development, rule development, software development and training for FOI structures. It also involves providing support on client projects via the Regional FOI managers. The position reports to the Global Technology Leader – FOI. Considerable liaison with colleagues from the Marine business stream is expected in the areas of competence, software development and rules.

Based in Aberdeen (or London), it is anticipated that short stays in London or Aberdeen will be a necessary part of the role as will some international travel.

Job Responsibilities

A) Implement the overall technology plan for FOI structures.

This to include:

Coordination and Project management

• Delivering structures aspects of the technology plan within time and to budget
• Reporting progress against plan to Global Technology Leader – FOI

Technology

• Executing aspects of the technology programme and/or acting as a programme manager for
each phase of the development
• Developing technical specifications for FOI software
• Participation in Joint Industry collaborative projects for FOIs
• Responsible for updating hull structure, topsides structure aspects of all FOI regulations
and associated procedures.

B) Corporate governance

• Maintenance of competence requirements for hull structure and topsides structure.

C) Support for operations

• Deliver the training plan and associated modules (both for internal staff and clients) to ensure smooth implementation of the FOI regulations into the business.
• Work together with IMO/IACS interface and internal support as a coherent team to provide streamlined FOI technical service to the business.
• Provide support on a reimbursable basis on client projects or other operational matters via the Regional FOI managers.

Job Requirements

• Familiar with IACS' CSR Rules, Procedures and software for oil tankers.
• Good understanding of structural engineering principles.
• Team player
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent
• Masters degree or equivalent in Naval Architecture or an allied engineering subject
