Production Director - China

Reports: Vice President of Global

Work location : Guangzhou City, China

This challenging position will lead the production activities for all OEM factories and related projects.

Responsibilities center around three main themes.

Production:

- Oversee all supply chain operation from initial order production ideation to shipment release.

- Guide project management of multiple new products production to industry best timelines.

- Use, develop, and improve project tracking tools to ensure product quality to meet company standards.

- Report to VP overall seasonal production status.

- Develop processes required to manufacture the end product.

- Validate that new products quality to meet design specifications and usage requirements.

- Approve mass production to make certain all are of top quality.

- Make and communicate decisions that continually improve the production process.

- Participate and lead global conferences.

Management:

- Mentor, lead and inspire many direct reports.

- Recruit, select, and train top resources to build the operation team capabilities and efficiencies.

- Provide resources the leadership and vision to create a best-in-class operation team.

- Establish and monitor department and individual goals and results.

- Resource planning to ensure timely project advancement.

- Resolve personnel conflict internally and with outsource partners.

- Direct reports include operation management, quality engineer, quality controller.

Outsource Partner Management:

- Create a relationship and environment that promotes world class production collaboration.

- Create metrics and drive to meet production benchmarks.

- Continually monitor and approve the process during the product production process.

- Guide vendors to instill a proactive, solution based operation organization.

Qualifications:

- Expert knowledge of material, pricing, and production processes.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

- 15 years of progressively responsible related experience, including 3 years’ experience in a production Management role.

- Experience managing teams comprised of both internal and external resources.

- Demonstrated experience leading creative and innovative processes.

- Strong business orientation and an understanding of the financial implications of production operation.

- Experience with a global organization.

- Excellent development and project management skills.

- Superb communication and computer skills.

- Need to speak fluent Chinese.

Requirements

-Master/ Doctoral degree in engineering (Thermal, Chemical, Building Materials, Mechanical)
-Experience in the research field preferred, but not a must

Responsibilities

-Lead/ participate in a professional team to design the mechanical, electrical , chemical or thermal components of specific products
-Select related building materials
-Cooperate with other mechanical, electrical, chemical and thermal engineers to ensure timely delivery of products
-Complete and file associated technical documentation
-Provide mechanical, electrical, chemical or thermal energy technical support to existing projects
-All other job duties as assigned by supervisors
