Job Description:
We are currently looking for a Welding Coordinator based in Surrey.
Our client is a major Offshore Installation company.

The Welding Coordinator ( WCO) coordinates and optimizes the welding activities of the project through all its phases to reach the target quality and productivity.

The tasks and responsibilities of Welding Coordinator are the following:

- Collect and analyse the technical welding specifications issued by the Oil /Gas Company and International Standards Bodies etc. (EN, ASME, API,BS,).

- Issuing of technical query.

- Preparation of budget for engineering welding activities

- Issuing the welding cycle time.

- Issuing the quantity of welding consumables.

- Preparation of preliminary welding specifications.

- Planning the welding activities.

- Maintain constant contact with project team & Client.

- Coordination of welding procedure qualification.

- Issuing of final book inclusive of WPS'S and PQR'S.

- Issuing method of statement for ECA if applicable.

- Issuing mechanical test results for weld repair analysis.

- Monitor barge progress to identify any eventual problem in terms of welding and NDT.

- Preparation of close out reports.

- Liaise continuously with welding equipment/material suppliers regarding the latest developments in

welding technologies.

- Program and implement procedure/welder certification activities.

- Assist the technical activities of welding R & D projects.

- Review journal and technical papers for new welding technology.

Qualifications & Experience:
Degree qualified Engineer in materials, metallurgy, mechanical or electrical engineering.
Professional member of the Welding Institute, other relevant institution and a Chartered Engineer.
Several years welding and materials experience of pipelines and/or subsea installations and steel structures with some years direct responsibility for welding engineering. This experience will generally have been gained with offshore engineering contractors.
Have practical expertise of welding technology and non-destructive testing in an oil and gas industry construction environment. Expertise in structural integrity, materials engineering and corrosion in the oil and gas industry is desirable.
