We are currently looking for motivated individual to join our team as an Administrator.

Main Responsibilities:


- perform general administrative functions including routine reports and correspondence, information distribution, procedure typing/formatting for the Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Operations Dept
- undertake preparation for project events, including meetings (monthly, quarterly and annual), trainings, etc. This also includes preparation of background materials for use in discussions and briefing sessions on project matters

- perform basic numerical, statistical and/or financial analysis
enter incident data into synergi database, produce reports and statistics and distribute as required
- implement departmental document control procedures in accordance with BMS including distribution and tracking of documentation internally/externally.
- act as the regional document administrator for the Business Management System (Agility Software)
act as the regional 7 Online Information Management System site content administrator (Sharepoint 2007 software)

Skills


- Basic Computer skills, microsoft office. Knowledge of Agility/Sharepoint software
- Good verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications and Education


Diploma holder or its equivalent secretarial or administrative training

Experience

- At least 3 years of experience in the Construction and/or Oil & Gas related industries preferred but not essential

Specific Job Related Requirements


- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and be a team player. Willingness to undertake inhouse training to support key computer skills, particularly with regard to programme software

Position Summary


SCOPE:
The Automation and Controls Technologist provides crucial “hands on” technical expertise to a team of professionals that configure, maintain and install the control system at Horizon Oil Sands. Your practical experience combined with industry knowledge will be fully utilized while working with the most advanced control system and one of the largest Delta V Distributed Control System (DCS) and Triconex Safety Instrumented System (SIS) in the world.
This control system utilizes the latest in bus technologies and design techniques.

KEY AREAS OF CONTRIBUTION:
• Provide hands on expertise to resolve significant technical issues, especially regarding hardware issues
• Monitors key performance parameters of the control system.
• Technical guidance on interface requirements to third party systems.
• Contribute sound ideas to assist with overall network architecture and maintenance.
• Works with other stakeholders providing guidance on interface issues to the DCS, SIS and the fiber optic infrastructure.
• Working with other stakeholders, provides guidance on significant pieces of software that exist on the Control Systems Application servers, these include our historian and alarm and events servers.
• Back up and disaster recovery planning.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Overall control system network architecture.
• Physical architecture of the fiber optics network.
• System related issues on the DCS and the SIS
• Interface with outside stakeholders on issues regarding the control system.
• Plant Information network.
• System security.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification, Education and Experience
• Certified Technologist from a recognized educational facility (preferably in instrumentation and controls).
• Several opportunities available requiring experiences ranging from 2-5 years as well as 5-10 years.
• Progressive experience in a large industrial facility (may include some time in engineering firms) is considered an asset.
• Distributed Control Systems including application servers or Safety Instrumented Systems.
• Working familiarity with Historian, Alarm and Events, and Alarm analysis applications.
• Fiber Optic network expertise.
• Foundation Fieldbus and other fieldbusses.
• Delta V expertise is an asset.
• Triconex Safety Instrumented System experience is an asset.
• PI historian experience is an asset.
